For anyone else that despises the new Canon RF lens caps, checkout this YouTube video. Simple, easy solution.

Backstory: Canon EF lens caps have always been super easy to put on a lens. You can twist them on from any angle, just drop them on the lens and turn a quarter turn, and they're secured. Makes it easy to cap/uncap in the field or when you're in a hurry and needing to drop a lens in your bag. Unfortunately the new RF lenses must have been designed by someone who never actually uses them in the field because they're incredibly frustrating. You have to have them lined up exactly right to get them to go on. When seconds matter, it's very frustrating that you have to visually pay attention to what you're doing rather than falling back on years of trained muscle memory.

I'd tried a few things, like marking the end with a silver marker so I know where the groove is, but that was still too slow and annoying. So I decided to look to see if anyone had created a 3d printed alternative. During that process I found this Youtube video. Took me about 10 minutes to modify all my lens caps, and they work flawlessly now, just like the old EF style. Makes them a little looser, but they still lock on just fine, and don't come off. Highly recommend trying this if you find them even half as frustrating as I did!
